•  loose gemstone for collectors and creators.

  Process of gemstone

Gemstone are created from minerals formed naturally within the through metamorphic, magmatic, or sedimentary, process, where high pressure and temperature cause the minerals to crystallize to from gemstone.  once extracted, these gemstones are subjected to a lapidary process, where expert uses wheel made of diamond powder to hear them and give them the desired shape and shine.

Cutting and shaping the Gemstone -

> This work is done by a skilled craftsmanship called a lapidary.

• Plane: First the lapidary studies the rough gemstone. He understands any defects          within the crystalline structure.

• Resources: For cutting a rotating wheel (lap) coated with diamond powder to create the rough shape.

> Process.

• Sawing : If the stone is very large it is first cut into smaller pieces.

• Grinding: The stone is rubbed on a lap containing diamond powder to create the rough shape.

> Finale result.

color and shine: The purpose of cutting is to bring out the color and inner brilliance of the Gemstone.

Pink Sapphire

What is pink shappire ?

A pink sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum, just like a traditional sapphire, but it displays a beautiful pink color instead of the classic blue. The pink hue comes from trace amounts of elements like chromium within the crystal structure.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

Mineral: Corundum (aluminum oxide)

Hardness: 9 on the Mohs scale, making it very durable (just behind diamond)

Value: Pink sapphires can be quite valuable, especially when the color is vivid and the stone is high quality

Uses: Commonly used in jewelry such as rings, earrings, and pendants.

Ethopiyan Opal

What is Ethopiyan Opal ?

Ethiopian opal is a type of precious opal that is mined primarily in Ethiopia. It's known for its vibrant play-of-color — that is, the shifting rainbow-like colors you see as the stone moves in light. Ethiopian opals often display bright flashes of reds, greens, blues, and other colors, sometimes with a fiery or holographic effect.

Here are some key points about Ethiopian opal:

Origin: Mostly from the Wollo and Shewa regions in Ethiopia.

Appearance: They can be transparent to translucent with a stunning play-of-color, sometimes called "Welo opals" after the Wollo region.

Types: Some Ethiopian opals are hydrophane, meaning they can absorb water and change appearance temporarily when wet.

Use: Popular in jewelry due to their unique beauty and affordability compared to Australian opals.

Care: Because some are hydrophane, they can be sensitive to water and sudden temperature changes, so they need careful handling.
